Dr. Hanna completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney. Before his dentistry studies, he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney. These experiences have given Dr. Hanna a holistic understanding of medicine, which allows him to treat patients with complex medical conditions.

Dr. Hanna joined Macquarie Dentists in late 2021, following many years at other private dental practices in Sydney. He also has experience in the public dental system and has participated in volunteer trips to Cambodia and Vanuatu. Dr. Hanna also regularly attends dental conferences and keeps himself updated with the latest techniques and technology.

Dr. Hanna’s passion is equipping patients with the knowledge to look after their oral care as best as possible. He believes in empowering his patients to control their well-being, including their dental health. He just loves giving his patients the confidence to keep on smiling.

Dr. Hanna enjoys all aspects of dentistry but specialises in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy, and pediatric procedures. Dr. Hanna also has a particular interest in orthodontics and fixed prosthodontics.

Restorative dentistry is a branch focused on replacing damaged or missing teeth, such as fillings, crowns, and bridges. Orthodontics treats irregularities in teeth, particularly those concerning alignment and occlusion. On the other hand, Prosthodontics includes the design and fitting of artificial replacements for teeth.

Always one to keep learning, Dr. Hanna has undertaken continuing education in oral surgery and dental implants. This makes him proficient in wisdom teeth removal and dental implant placement, and these two procedures are of particular importance in maintaining your dental health.

Wisdom teeth removal is the process of extracting your wisdom teeth – the third molars at the very back of your mouth. So long as they are healthy and growing correctly, they can be left alone. However, if they are only partially emerged, crowding nearby teeth, or are otherwise impacted, they will need extraction.

Meanwhile, dental implants are about more than replacing missing teeth. Implants can help strengthen bone structure, aid the ability to chew and improve people’s self-esteem. They also help protect and support existing teeth.

Dr. Hanna is well-known for his gentle and calming approach, which reassures many anxious patients and children under his care. He always aims to ensure his patients are as comfortable as possible and thoroughly explains all treatment options to give them the best understanding of their procedures. Dr. Hanna’s skills with dental extractions, coupled with his calm chairside manner, mean his patients feel very at ease when he treats them.

When not in the dentist’s chair, Dr. Hanna loves spending time with his friends and family. He grew up in Western Sydney and continues to live there with his family. He dotes on his daughter, whom he says keeps his life exciting and wonderful. He also loves watching and playing soccer and is an avid fan of the Western Sydney Wanderers.

He is currently working at Macquarie Dentists every Monday and Wednesday.
